Tokyo and Japan as a whole have an amazing public transport system, however it’s a little difficult to get your head around at first. In general I am a little claustrophobic, and crowds tend to make me a bit anxious (let’s move to Tokyo). So today was my fist solo attempt at catching the train From Shinagawa into Akihabara. Now here in Tokyo it doesn’t really get much easier for a local, and for the most part it went off without a hitch. Although it took a while to find which platform to get on in Shinagawa, I got there ok. It’s a pretty big crowded place and everyone is in a hurry. I also grabbed the train in wrong direction to come home so had get off at the next station and swap over to the platform going the other way. Rookie errors. I’m very glad I wasn’t at the stations during peak times though. I was travelling during the quietest daytime periods and it was still standing only on the train.
